Spacebar, in collaboration with SKYGG, is pleased to announce the launch of the Star Sweepers Square Challenge. This new initiative aims to enhance player engagement and provide a more inclusive reward structure within the Star Sweepers game ecosystem.
Overview
Welcome to Spacebar’s inaugural Star Sweepers Square Challenge, an exciting collaboration with SKYGG! We’re thrilled to introduce a structured system that keeps Star Sweepers players constantly engaged and rewarded for their actions.
Our previous leaderboard rewards system focused primarily on top-ranking players, potentially discouraging lower-ranked participants from minting scores. Additionally, the lack of competition between Squares left top players with little incentive to consistently mint scores and remain loyal to their affiliated Square.
To address these issues, we’ve developed a new structure that:
- Enhances the role of Square leaders while boosting member participation
- Rewards anyone who contributes to their Square
- Encourages players to stay engaged throughout the season
Square Challenge Structure
The Star Sweepers Square Challenge will be divided into “Splits” — three-month intervals with consistent rules, reward pools, and challenge mechanisms. Each Split comprises Individual and Square Leaderboard Challenges held on weekly and monthly bases.
Square Leaderboard Challenge
Weekly: Squares are ranked based on the total sum of scores minted by their members during the week. Rewards are calculated and distributed every Monday.
Monthly: Squares are ranked based on the total sum of scores minted by their members during the month. Rewards are calculated and distributed on the last week of each month.
- The last week of each month will not count toward the challenge as it will be the calculation and reward distribution period
Individual Leaderboard Challenge
Weekly: Players are ranked on the Global Leaderboard based on their highest weekly score. Rewards are settled and winners are announced every Monday. (Same as current system)
Monthly Star Sweepers Invitational
The top 32 or 64 players with the highest average score from the first three weeks of each month are invited to participate in the Invitational.
- Participants must record their gameplay and submit the video on X (Twitter) during the tournament period, including their username, Square name, and tag @spacebarxyz.
- Games must be played in ranked mode with minted scores.
- Tiebreaker: Earlier video uploads receive higher seeding.
- Only one account per player is allowed; violators will be disqualified.
This will happen on the last week of each Month
Split 1 Rewards and Period
Split 1 of the Star Sweepers Challenge kicks off on August 5th! Note that this inaugural Split will run for two months (August and September).
80% of the Blast Gold that we receive will be allocated to the Square Challenge (The rest of the 20% will be allocated to Star Sweepers Capsule). The Blast Gold reward amounts may be adjusted based on our allocation from the Blast team.
Square Leaderboard Challenge
Reward
72% of the Total Blast Gold allocation will be allocated for the Weekly and Monthly Leaderboard Challenge. Each Square will receive Blast Gold based on their accumulated scores, and that will be distributed among participating Square members based on their score contributions.
