Coming to Blast
Today, we’re excited to announce Spacebar’s launch on Blast. Spacebar is joining the Blast Big Bang competition, allowing us to tap into Blast’s >$1.7B TVL and >130k users.
Blast is a L2 built on Ethereum, seeking to grow their onchain economy by providing a native yield. On Blast, users receive native yields on $ETH and its native stablecoin $USDB — at 4% and 5% respectively. Blast is built by the team behind Blur, and is backed by Paradigm and Standard Crypto.
Playing Spacebar on Blast
To participate in Spacebar on Blast, users will need to head to Spacebar and Connect their Wallet — and mint a free Blast Protoship NFT. The user will then be prompted to select an NFT they own, to pair with their Blast Protoship, where certain NFT collections will entitle the user for additional Spacebar points.
Blast Universe Phase I, II, and III
Spacebar will begin with Blast Universe Phase I together with Blast Mainnet launch in Feb 2024 — where core functionalities will be released including $ETH Staking. We expect Phase II to be launched in March 2024, where Phase II will see new functionalities including the partial release of Squares. Phase III in April 2024 will see the full functionality of Squares being implemented, where users will be able to earn Keys and level up their Squares.
Squares on Blast
Squares are at the heart of Spacebar’s community-driven Web 3 gaming experience. Squares are member-only communities that also double up as physical spaces within Spacebar — where members come together and interact, while accessing all activities within Spacebar from their Square.
Squares in Spacebar are ERC-6551 NFTs, and have the ability to accumulate assets on Spacebar. Squares can be likened to a guild, where members of a Square come together to achieve a common objective — including collectively accumulating Spacebar and Blast points, keys, and point multipliers.
In Phase II, users will be able to create or join a Square — where users can play games and socialize with other members of their Square.
- Square Leaders: Square Leaders are akin to a “guild leader”, who organize a community and foster a sense of belonging amongst members. For doing so, Square Leaders are entitled to a boost in their Points based on the activeness of the Square they are leading.
- Square Members: Members of the Square can collectively work to level up the Square, with each new level increasing the Square’s member capacity.
- Earn Spacebar Points Multipliers with your Square: Squares leaders and members can work together to gain larger Spacebar point multipliers, resulting in larger $AIR incentives in the future.
As collective TVL in the Square increases via $ETH Staking (more below), more “Portals” unlock — giving Square members:
- More Games: Our games have been built and tested with top esports players.
- Blast Mission Portals: Square members can participate in whitelisted Blast dapps to earn bonus Spacebar Point multipliers and other Blast dapp’s Points all-in-one.
- Gas Fee Payback: Specialized portals will give Square members a chance to participate in raffles to win L2 gas fee paybacks from Spacebar smart contracts.
ETH Staking
Blast seeks to grow their onchain economy by providing the highest yields amongst other L2s — where users receive native yields on $ETH at 4% and on stablecoins at 5%.
Users on Spacebar can choose to stake their $ETH via the Spacebar user interface, where they will earn 4% yields compounded daily and with no commissions. Staking $ETH on Spacebar will entitle users to additional sources of yields via Spacebar and [REDACTED], with Squares being able to pool their $ETH for greater Spacebar point multipliers.
